Wedding planning

WOW!!! I can't believe how fast time flies by!!! Our wedding is only about 2 months away..EEEKKK!!!!! Today my invitations are going out. There is NO going back now!!! hehehe WOW, this is the first real big step we've taken towards the wedding, everything else up til now has been planning. YAY!

As for my health, I go in for a LEEP procedure on August 22nd. It's going to be no fun but at least I'll be over it before the wedding! You can google it if you want to know what it is. Has to do with my cervix and it's just not fun at all, but necessary.

So that's that!!!!!

Results and More Tests

So my blood tests for hepatitis and thyroid came back negative, as well as the urinalysis. All normal. My colonoscopy found nothing of interest. He did biopsy two spots but didn't they would be anything.

I get a call today that my pap smear came back "significantly abnormal" and so I am being referred to a gyno for a colposcopy! My abdominal ultrasound is scheduled for tomorrow morning. I went in today and gave more blood to test for celiac disease and gluten allergy.

So far they have found nothing wrong with me yet all signs pointed to something wrong. It's so frustrating and I feel like a lab rat. I guess I won't need all this diagnostics anytime soon and I can be confident that all else is fine and dandy at age 32 as it SHOULD be!!!! Geesh!!!!

Colonoscopy!!!

I had my mashed potatoes on Monday evening, then a little later I had some scrambled eggs. At about 10pm I ended up in the bathroom with several bouts of diarrhea. So I called the doctor the next morning and she said she'd set up a consult with the GI Doc. So then I get a call today saying that they just went ahead and scheduled a colonoscopy for me for Friday. YIPEE!

So, last night I had some chicken and rice soup which stayed down til about 3am, then it woke me up. So it's all for the best that I go through this horrendous process.

So I get my prescription for the Nu-Lytely. It's basically a one gallon plastic container with some powder in the bottom. It came with several packets of flavoring (lemon-lime, pineapple, cherry, and orange). I get to choose which one I want to use. Tonight after 8pm, I'm on a liquid diet, which is what I was on pretty much anyways. Then tomorrow at noon I get to start drinking this liquid. I can cut it with crystal light or something like that. I get 4 hours to drink it. Probably within 20 minutes I'll start having the urge to go. When everything comes out clear, then you know your clean. Hopefully it won't take me long. then it's clear liquid diet til midnight and then nothing after midnight.

I go to the doctors at 7:30am on Friday. Procedure should be done by 10:30 or so, then it's home. Oy...can't believe I am getting this done. It'll be good but still, such a hassle! I sure hope they find something in there!!!!!

Back from the Doctors

I just got back from the doctors. I had my annual physical as well as a follow up to my diagnoses on Thursday of diverticulitis. I've been on a clear liquid diet all weekend long eating only a pudding cup once a day with my antibiotics.

So, she tells me that she wants to do a hepatitis panel since my liver values are elevated. She explained to me about fatty liver and all that jazz and that I may need an ultrasound.

We talk about my symptoms that I presented with on Thursday. Most of them are gone, although my stomach is still sore, my guess is that there is still some inflammation in there. Doc then told me she'd refer me to a gastroenterologist, the best around in her opionion, and she wanted me to talk to him first, see what he thought and what step (i.e. upper endo or colonoscopy) he preferred.

My physical went fine. All else was normal. She said I could start eating soft solid foods (that includes brownies, right?) for a few days, see how my stomach did and then go back to normal after a few days. I went up to the lab, got a urinalysis, a thyroid profile, and a hepatitis profile done (more blood), and went home. Oh, the results from the ova and parasite testing weren't back yet. So she should be calling me sometime in the next few days with results. I'm hoping it's nothing crazy and I can just get back to normal.

She also told me that she can prescribe my antidepressant meds and I won't have to go to the psychiatrist anymore! WOOT!!!

So, I had some eggs, some mashed potatoes and a brownie ( I couldn't help it!!!!!) and now I'm happy and content and am going to go watch a movie!

Happy Monday everyone!

Updating ya..

Wow, I can't believe how fast the last 6 months have gone. I used to be really good at writing in my blog but have seriously slacked off in that department. It's not that I've been extremely busy, I guess that my brain has just been elsewhere.

So, our wedding is planned for October 18, 2008. It's a Saturday night. So far, we are looking at a backyard wedding. The cost for everything is enormous. We really need to win the lottery. But I'm still excited. I just hope it all works out!

I got a new pet. He's a black bear hamster. So far I've been calling him Hammy but I know that isn't original. We are still getting to know his personality. He's quite skittish and have been trying to get him used to us. He's wicked cute though and I just want to kiss him and squish him. LOL

Work is the usual. I still love being around the animals but the politics of the hospital are really getting to me. They are taking advantage of me and it is just getting to be way too much. I'm looking though.

Not really working on anything crafty. I have so many WIP's and none of them excite me but I know I should finish or frog. I can't get myself to do any of that. I'd really love to make the "Diamond Sage Wrap" from the new Interweave Crochet. Any suggestions for a good yarn for that? It's hard to find a good cheap laceweight. Thanks in advance.

So, I taught my mom to crochet a while back. She's doing so well and I'm so proud of her!! She has made a bunch of afghans and throws. She made a few bags and is now busy making dishcloths. She even taught herself to read a pattern, which she said she'd never be able to do!!!! Someone else who is "hooked"!!! Yayayay MOM!!!!

I spent Memorial Day week at my brothers in KS. My mom, her boyfriend and myself flew out there to see my brothers new baby, Chloe. She is the most beautiful wonderful thing ever! She was born March 27th and is so perfect. We had a good visit with her and my brother and his wife. They are situated on Fort Leavenworth but not for long. My brother is getting out and the family is moving to Oregon, closer to his wifes family. It's going to be tough having them so far away.

Both B and me had our birthdays. We are now 32 years old. I don't feel 32 though. the past few days I've felt 100. I had a diverticulitis attack, well at least that is what the doctor thinks. She also said I had elevated liver values so more testing will be done for that on Monday. It's kinda stressful but I just want to feel better. The past 2 days were horrible. And I'm on a clear liquid diet til Monday which is awful. I'm STARVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's about it for now. All else is normal around here. Summer is here, and only 4 months til the wedding!!!

Wedding Plans

I think we've just about figured out what our wedding day/reception plans are going to be. We originally were going to have a beach ceremony and then a restaurant reception. We finally came to the conclusion that we just can't afford the restaurant reception.

So we are going to have a backyard reception. Oh my...am i crazy?
